Founders Alex Fisher and Claudia Mooney (partners in life and business) found themselves navigating the isolation and uncertainty of the COVID‑19 lockdowns. Beyond their shared love of coffee, Alex brings a strong business mind – from leadership to the grit of starting and growing a company – while Claudia’s artistic background shapes the brand’s look, feel and creative expression. As devoted coffee drinkers, they suffered energy crashes, caffeine jitters and mounting anxiety just when focus and calm mattered most. Determined to find a better way, Alex explored natural alternatives while Claudia discovered mushroom‑based coffee. When they brought their research together, it became clear they had uncovered something extraordinary.
Their investigation showed that most energy products still rely heavily on caffeine, sugar or synthetic additives. Yet functional mushrooms – particularly Lion’s Mane – offered a clean, science‑backed solution to support focus, mental clarity, gut health and immunity. After trialling dozens of blends in their kitchen and sharing them with friends, family and fellow coffee lovers for honest feedback, they identified a gap in the UK market.

- Noomf is a brand-new mushroom supplement brand specialising in unique and great-tasting coffee blends created entirely from mushrooms
- More specifically: Lion’s Mane. Lion’s Mane is an adaptogen [6], belonging to a family of fungi that helps your body respond to stress, anxiety, and fatigue [7] – which could support overall wellbeing.
- Designed to do just that – and more! – Noomf supports overall well-being by providing a natural and sustainable energy source which can enhance focus and boost productivity [8].
- It’s exactly what the team behind Noomf were looking for before Noomf became Noomf! They collectively realised that coffee consumption mostly resulted in addictive cycles of crashes, headaches, and anxiety.
- They went hunting for an alternative. Seeing the market turn toward mushroom coffee ever-increasingly, particularly Lion’s Mane [5] – renowned for its potential health qualities [6, 13]. Providing a healthier and more sustainable solution, with all the benefits of your regular morning cup, Noomf was born!

Beginning with a simple idea in mind, Noomf’s origins lay within the desire to find a healthier alternative to traditional coffee.
Couple, and founders, Alex Fisher and Claudia Mooney, were both avid coffee consumers but like others, had sensitivities to caffeine- including crashes and anxiety. Alex set out to find something different…
Alex soon stumbled on coffee made from mushrooms, meanwhile a similar online ad caught Claudia’s attention. With research, they both noticed mushroom-based products were in their infancy, and a natural and healthier alternative to traditional coffee and energy supplements often laden with sugar, caffeine and chemicals. After trying some and understanding it was what they had been looking for, with some teamwork and a passion to share a healthy plant-based product, they realised they could bring this new, healthy discovery to the United Kingdom!
